Just out of curiosity, whats wrong with the stock aimpoint pro mount? I just bought a pro and so Im genuinely curious. Thanks. Desire for quick detach and/or a different co-witness Aimpoint PRO mount is pretty quick detach, I thought. RTZ when I tested it was <1MOA, although admittedly I only tested it at 50 yards and with 10 shot groupings, and didn't do more than a couple of samples on one specific optic/mount combo, so I can't vouch for ALL of them working as well. Also, there are spacers which can be used to modify the height over bore. That said, everyone has their favorite QD mount to sell you, and all of them work pretty well regarding that optic. I will say that the MI Aimpoint mount I tested did show a bit of shift for the first shot. Something like 1 MOA. |

As others have said, it is pretty QD and it returns to zero fairly well. There are lighter options, though. And, anyway, can someone explain the fascination with QD mounts? Are you afraid your PRO will fail in a firefight and you'll have to get it off in a hurry to use your co-witnessed back-up irons? |

I'm wanting a QD mount I would go MI. -The lever has a locking mechanism -The contact surfaces are large -The lever is adjustable to a fine enough degree that you shouldn't have any issues getting acceptable tensions. -It has a very "slick" form factor, which I gather is part of the reason you want done with the knob mount. |

You can add a Midwest Industries QD base to the stock mount. Or You can get an entire new MI QD mount in either lower 1/3rd or absolute cowitness. Worth reading: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/12/18/new-qd-optic-mounts-midwest-industries-kinetic-development-group/ |
