Hi guys!
I'm currently in need of a scope mount for my newest AR build! The scope I'm looking to mount is an Athlon Argos BTR 8-34x56. I just got the scope, but I did a test fit in my Primary Arms Deluxe Extended Scope Mount (LINK )and the primary arms mount puts the scope too far forward for me to shoot comfortably at any magnification. Things I need:
I do NOT need a QD feature (Hopefully that keeps the price down) |
|
At the price range I'm in, would it be worth it just ponying up an extra $10 for the Warne Gen 2 mount? |

I do NOT need a QD feature (Hopefully that keeps the price down) Leupold Mark 2 IMS. Will be a bit over your budget -about $85-$95, but strong for a big heavy scope. But with a scope that large and heavy you might need to consider an extended riser and separate tactical rings to get your eye relief and ring locations optimized. That combination might go ivewr your budget. |

Also that Leupold Mark 2 looks exactly like the Warne Gen 2? |

The Warne might be a touch beefier and has 4 screws per cap vs. the Leupy's 2 per cap. You might also check out the Nikon M223 line. They are US made and are pretty nice in my experience. Several versions to choose from. All reasonably priced. ETA: The Warne is a few thousandths lower than other popular options. It has a 1.435" optic center line height if I'm not mistaken. Many others use the industry standard 1.5". Doesn't seem like much, but I can get behind the slightly lower mounts better personally. The more common 1.5" works well in most situations. But from a bench or prone I like the cheekweld of the slightly lower mounts. YMMV. |

I'm worried that the aero is going to put the scope too far forward, as I had that issue with the primary arms mount. |

Aero Gets my vote ETA: One of mine with an Aero Mount, its the Extended SPR mount...they also do a couple that are not quite that far. This was perfect tho http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af75/jmosulli7/20150920_100455_zpsgwobd6pf.jpg Whats the height on that, looks pretty tall. I know it works for you, just wondering. I am looking into a mount lately and that one looks nice. |

I think they have 3 models. I think you can also get them in FDE. |
