Hello everyone, first post here so bear with me.

I have a M&P 15 Sport II that I use around the house mainly for plinking, nothing serious. I've been shooting irons for a few years and I'm finally deciding to purchase my first optic. I've narrowed it down between the PA Micro Dot and the Bushnell TRS-25. Only thing that sets the Bushnell apart for me is the lifetime warranty. I don't need an EOtech or Aimpoint or other expensive sight, this isn't a firearm I rely on with my life..

Shopping around I see the run anywhere around $80 or more. However on Ebay I see some very reputable sellers selling them slightly under $70. Are they refurbs or what is the reasoning behind selling them so much lower?

There have been 338 sold at the time of this posting and all of the feedback from others who have purchased them through these sellers is positive so I can't justify the price.

The listing in question is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bushnell-Trophy-TRS-25-Red-Dot-Sight-Riflescope-1-x-25mm-731303-/361514983045 and other similar ones.

i have a few of these sights and they are gtg for the money. ive gotten them on sale for ~60 and up to almost 80. check into the primary arms red dots too, i like them slightly better. btw you will need a riser. i use mid height for absolute co witness or you can get high mount for lower 1/3

Yep.  I also mount with a mid-height riser (the UTG riser is actually not bad) for absolute co-witness.  Works great on two AR's.  I also have one on a 10/22 with no riser.

Palmetto State Armory has had some amazing deals on the TRS-25 in the past - I think as low as $50.

Well after shopping around a bit more I decided to go with the Primary Arms. I really liked the warranty that Bushnell offers but from what I hear PA has top notch customer service. Hopefully it won't funk out on me immediately after the 1 year, but if so I guess $60 isn't bad for the use I'll get out of it. I'd rather deal with PA than some random joe off of Ebay. Also grabbed a UTG med profile riser, I think I want to try out an absolute co-witness.

I got the fixed base model (FBGII). What's the deal with this model? I can't seem to find much info on it. Can it not be mounted on a riser or what's the difference between it and the removable base model?

When I called Bushnell a few months ago to ask about the lifetime warranty they told me the Trs-25 and all other red dot sights were excluded.
I believe they only carry a 1 year warrenty from date of purchase with recipe even though it says trophy on the box.
Makes it easy to pick which one to go with that being the case (although Ive never had a problem with a trs-25).
