For use with a 16in barrel, 77gr.ammo, and within 400m range.
Something that can take abuse. Right now I'm looking at the NF 3x10 SHV but not sure... Thanks! |

If you're looking for toughness, the NF is hard to beat. Plenty of great optics out there in all manner of magnification range and cost.
If you're worried about it breaking, Vortex, Leupold, Burris, and Bushnell have lifetime warranties on certain products (though not all cover electronics). ETA: I recently picked up a NF NXS 2.5-10x32 and extremely pleased. I plan on keeping this scope for a long, long time and expect it will still be around working for that. It's built like a tank. |

My only quibble with the two scopes mentiined above is their small 32mm objective. A 40-44mm objective in that power rannge will have a more user friendly exit pupil at full magnification and significantly better low light performance. You might add an ounce or two in weight with a larger objective.
The 42mm objective on the SHV you are considering will absolutely slaughter the 32mm scopes in low light and will be much more friendly in centering your eye in the eyepiece at 10x. |

No argument there. I got a good deal on the 32. If I were looking at using this rifle in low light situations more often, or in situations where I would have less than ideal cheek welds, I would have held off for the 42 mm variety. I was just giving the OP my experience with my own NF. |
