I am going to be building my first 308 AR slowly and am needing some help with choosing an optic.  I am going to try and stay on the light side when it comes to weight.  I am going with an 18" barrel and would like to get a variable magnification, FFP optic that would allow me to make use of the 308 round.  I have always used optics with the BDC built into the reticle but I havent had any luck finding that for 308. As far as price range, I would like to stay around $1500 for the optic itself.  I am in no way a door kicker or would be betting my life with this scope or build but this will be my most expensive build to date so I would like something nice.

I did come across a primary arms scope that definitely fits the bill and have several of their products, I am just not sure about putting a $300 scope on a 2K build.

Any help is very much appreciated.

If my memory serves me correctly, some of the Leupold FFP may fall into that margin. If not, I'd look to the Nightforce FFP scopes as well. The only BDC 308 scope I know of is the Nikon P308
