The box lid says 3 “snaps” for the QRP2 mount and the paper instruction manual says 2.

What is the correct number of “snaps”

None, I press down while turning as hard as I can. If not it'll loosen up

This.  I use some downward pressure and snap three times.  It's how .mil told me to do it years ago.

QRP2 mount?

I suppose 2 or 3 will do it.

Replace the knob with the Midwest Industries QD throw lever base. You can thank me later.

Is this the MI mount you referred to above ???

This one looks promising.

IMO, use the QRP a bit before you spend more on a mount. When I bought my PRO I was budgeting to get a Wilcox or other mount to replace all or part of the QRP because everyone said the stock mount was terrible. Once I got it I realized there is absolutely nothing wrong with the QRP mount.

YMMV of course, but that's what I found.

I tend to agree. $75 for more ammo or strippers.

Yes. They also have a cantilever spacer if needed.

Called Aimpoint USA and Rep. said 2, 3 4, or x  - it does not matter because
the screw down mechanism controls the torque.

My standard for torque-limiting knobs for micrometers and the like is 3, so ima go with that.
