Sounds like you want an illuminated 1-4x scope. Pick an amount you want to spend and look at the abundance of options.

U.S. Optics has what you seek in a few different magnification ranges, 1-4X, 1-8X and maybe others.

If you don't have a naturally fat wallet, best start saving soon

I have the PA 1-6X 5.56/.308 BDC ACSS. I would consider it the best of both worlds. The snobs are pissy cause it's $269.00.

Another option maybe the Leupold AR Mod 1  - 1.5x X 4.

Have one and really like it.

I think this forum is full, and I do mean full, of threads about low powered variable scopes with illuminated reticles that are bright enough to be daylight visible.  Just spend some time reading and you will have no problem finding plenty of info on this class of optic.

Not to derail Ops' thread too much because I haven't used the Primary Arms scopes....however...Good Lord they are easy to do business with!  Ordered an upper receiver over the weekend and used the most cost effective shipping solution.  It arrived Monday.  Way to go Marsh, thanks!

how hard is it to acquire sight picture on the 1x4 scopes, particularly the primary arms. has anyone had experience with the prisim style. I like the small and compact look but also have the distance capability.
