Necessity.... The Mother of invention, and lack of any help in this thread, and I finally came up with a solution I can share with others.

" />

This is a size 02 Blizzard front cap.the 01 was too small, and the 02 was too big, so I shipped it up with a Bicycle tire inner tube. workes great.

The rear

Is a standard size 19 Butler creek cap. A little snug, but it fits.

So there you go...

I took your advice for the Butler Creek #19 rear, but ordered a non-see-through #2A ( 30mm / 1.181 inch ) objective lens cover.
This should fit perfectly.

Brownells sent them by the usual three legged mule. So they should be here in two weeks or less.

Not to hijack the thread but I just got a speed shot for Christmas from my wife and was wondering how it's working out for you so far.

I like it so much, I decided to keep using it vs. buy a Trijicon Accupoint or the Steiner that Euro Optics is selling for $600.
What I like about it is its simplicity... I don't really need a Bullet drop compensator reticle that  has windage  holds on it.  I want a simple 2MOA dot that is etched but can be turned on to daylight bright red, which this scope does. A lot of the fancier and more expensive scopes are not true daylight bright. This one is.

The dot at 1x is as fast as a standard Red dot like an Aimpoint. So close up it works just like my Aimpoints. But when I need to reach out to 200-300meters, I can have quick 4x magnification. And knowing my hold overs on that 2MOA dot, I can hot out to 500 meters no problem.

Its got capped turrets, so I don't have to worry about bumping them and losing my zero. And the glass is very clear. If the battery dies, I can still see the etched dot.

I'm not a glass snob. I know what I like and what I don't like. Would I like a $2K Kahles scope??? Probably... Would it make me shoot better?? probably not.
I looked thru a $325 Vortex Strike Eagle. Didn't look any different then the Mueller.

So far this scope has impressed the hell out of me as to how it works. It holds a great zero, does not weight much more then any other comparable 1-4X. and  I got it in a trade for a $80 Primary Arms Red dot sight. I picked it up initially as a low cost option as I wanted to try a 1 x 4 scope. I thought I needed a 1x6, cause that what everyone is going for now. I watched the review that Mac did on Military Arms channel and noted his surprise on what a good scope it was. A fellow Arfcommer was looking to try a Red dot, so we made the trade. I figured I would run it for awhile while I researched other options, but since having it and using it, I have really taken a shine to it.

If I were to buy another scope, I would just be spending more money, and not really getting anything that I don't already have. The extra 2x that a 1x6 offers is not worth more to me. When I switched the Speed shot from the original Primary arms mount to a ADM QD mount, I only needed 1 click of left wind and 1 click of elevation to re zero it. and it made a 5 shot group that could be covered with a quarter at 50 yards.

Yeah, I'll be keeping this scope for awhile... I like to get value in my gear choices, and I see great value in this scope. Just goes to show you, you don't need the latest and greatest.

Welcome to the club.

Thank you that's really helpful. I've been primarily a red dot guy so that's why I wanted this scope to try out a 1-4x scope and the simplistic reticle. I'm really glad you like yours so much I'll see this weekend on mine. If this scope is a winner it'll be residing on my main rifle.

I also got a Mueller for Christmas after seeing the MAC review. I was also looking at a red dot with a magnifier, but this just seemed more elegant and good bang for the buck. It's going on my Tavor, and my whole philosophy with the gun is 25 to 200 yards seamlessly. Thanks for the cap experimentation.

Glad to help.. Try the 50/200meter zero...  I find it works very well.

another tip I discovered is the two turret caps for the elevation and windage turrets have enough empty space in them, that you can keep a spare CR2032 battery in a small plastic zip lock bag inside each cap.

If  anyone wants to try a cat tail, the plastic one I got off Amazon is working well...

I've seen some numbers around the 140 hr range at full power (its daylight bright, so you will rarely need the highest setting)

I'm still on the same battery. about  5 months now.

I got mine used ( floor display model ) from an Amazon seller.

It arrived with the battery in it and on power level #3 after 10 days shipping ground to my door and it was still bright when tuned to #11.
Even if they turned it on right before shipping, that's 240 hours minimum at #3 setting and still GTG.

BTW, I got the covers today.

The #19 rear is tight but GTG. The front #2A fits like it grew there.
I'll post pics on Monday on the Vortex 3" cantilever mount.

i might give this one a try, seems like even in todays marketplace its a good daylight bright 1-4x, and at under 200 bucks a no brainer?

any particular mount that you'd recco?   MAC used the UTG rings and says they work well.   wonder if 20 bucks a pair for those QD rings is just as good as 90 bucks for a burris pepr qd one piece?    How do you fig out what to order, low/med/high rings?  i have troy fold battle sights.

Mine came with  Primary Arms Cantilever mount and it was the right height to fit over my BUIS. I picked up a American defense QD  Recon mount and the height was still good. I like having a QD mount. I would have got an LaRue, but got a good deal on the AD. Either one works well.

How the heck did you get the 19 flip up cap on?  should i heat it up with a hairdryer?  I suppose its a little stiff as just being delivered.    but the 2A is perfect!  thanks!    Just got the scope too, looks great at first glance!  The red dot shows up even on a bright day against the snow.  I'm no glass guru, but looks pretty good to me as well.  Pretty impressive for 190 bucks.

Could def use a cat-tail, but hate to spend 20 bucks on a plastic zip tie! LOL  do they hold up ok?  for average use.

I had to muscle it on over the Diopter a bit, it was tight, but doable. So far the Plastic MTM cat tail has worked well. I will run it until it breaks and then buy a the metal version.
