Anyone own and put through it's paces the Primary Arms ADVANCED MICRO red dot? I've heard mixed reviews about them, but could use some more info before buying one!?
if you are talking about this one http://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-advanced-series-red-dot-with-integrated-ar-height-qd-mount-lifetime-warranty/p/kt-pacrs/ I really like mine. I only have around 500 rounds downrange with in but I've had 0 problems. Very easy to zero and holds it, co-witness's with my flip up sights. I use it for 30 yards out to 200 yards.
Check out this video OP here the video itself is a review of the rifle but there is a PA advanced micro dot on it. In the video they beat the crap out of the rifle and the dot sight gets some abuse with it.
I try to run my guns hard and don't baby them, I ran one of these on my SBR in a CQB course a couple of weeks ago and it held up fine. This was the second course I've ran it thru and I've had it over a year and never cut the optic off. It gets a pass in my book.

Jump out of airplanes with it? No? Then I'd say it's good to go. Out of the six or so I've used, one would blink under recoil at very low temperatures (10F). I cleaned the contacts, added a tiny dab of conducting grease, and haven't had a problem since. I had another strip the 4 mount screws. I replaced the screws with longer ones, and haven't had any problems since. The others have been boringly reliable on a variety of weapons, including an AK Ultimak mount, a .308, and a 9mm pistol. |
