| I finally built my 4th AR15. I have an SBR with a red dot sight, one carbine 16" with a fixed 3X power, and one mid length with a 3-9x40 scope. My new build is running flip up MBUS front and back iron sights. Question being, what would you guys put on the new build? Its a free float 12" rail with a ballistic advantage barrel. I am leaning towards the Vortex Sparc II or maybe Nikons P223 1.5-4.5x20. I want to have co witness whatever the sight may be. Thanks for the insight. |

What are the specs on the barrel (length, material, profile, twist)? A name alone may not mean anything to some of us. Doesn't for me. Sorry. Their website shows AR barrels from pistol length to 20" DMR with many different profiles, chamber and twist choices. How do you intend to use the rifle?
Having the same mount height as your irons maintains the same cheekweld. That is a good idea. But, as stated above, you cannot cowitness through a scopes, not even a true 1x. To use your irons you will either need to remove the scope, or 45 degree offset mount them if the scope is attached. |
