Hello all, let me start by saying I've watched the midway video about scopes and read some things about field of view, but I'm still confused here.

I have a 3x9x32mm Simmons (cheapy from Walmart) just for basic plinking.

When I use it at 3x setting it's all well and good, looks good. However when I crank it up to 9 the image diameter in the scope is super small and field of view looks EXACTLY the same. In other words, I can see my shed left to right full view in 3x and in 9x, only smaller picture of it. (Like if you had a 4x6 photo and just moved it from 6 inches away to 3 feet away, you actually see it WORSE.)

Did I buy the wrong scope here or what? TIA!

If you were to take a variable power scope and look through the objective lens instead of the ocular, the smallest image would be at the highest magnification.

Not saying that you scope is backwards but if it was, it would give you the same result.

Wow, just checked it............. I get the stupid award for the day. Just assumed day 1 when I got it that one side was very cleared out of the pack, that surely must be the side I need.
