Get on the Arfcom EE here you see em all the time for $50 for ones that came off of Colts. Long story short, retail prices they are expensive for the decent ones and the 10-25 UTG ones and other such chinese ones are POS.

I have one that's pretty OK and which I don't use anymore.  The A2 sight works flawlessly (do a box test and you'll see it returns to zero very well, indeed.)

I moved on to a RDS and BUIS.  But I regretted giving up the handle, so, I put another on the rifle and wouldn't be without one (http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah103/longfisher/Carbine%20New%20Sights%20Whole%20Rifle%20Shot_zpsqbi0q4i6.jpg).

You can have it for nothing and I'll even pay the postage if you send me your address.  There's nothing wrong with it at all.  I just don't have use for it anymore and would like to see it not end up and the bottom of a cardboard box.

If you don't like it throw it away or sell it on Craig's List.

Let me know.

Best,

David

The issue there is, I wouldn't know a cheap crap one from a COLT, someone could say it's a colt and it could be NCStar for all I know. RRA and PSA have logos so those are easier but I dont see alot of those for sale

Is there a way to identify a carry handle to certain manufacturers if they don't have a logo?

Try and familiarize yourself with the forging marks, don't quote me but I'm 100% of all USA made carry handles have a forging mark.

Buy the ones with a square symbol on the left side by the sight adjustment, those are one of the few that came on Colts from the factory and are forged alum. You can get them form ebay for about $50 that are sometimes new.

If you are still looking OP check out Del-Ton. I have one and it is good to go.  They have them on their site now for $85.00.  PSA has them for $79.99, I have one of theirs too and they are also good to go .  I hope this helps.  FWIW I have no connection to the aforementioned companies I just use some of their kit.  ETA content.

Make sure the buyer has high feedback. Ask that they can swear its a quality one. And of course make sure to check the forge marks and study them. I just buy the Colt handles if I ever need one (easy to remember square forge mark)

Internet High-five David/Longfisher, you're rad!  Looks like OP found one.

I happened to see these at McKay, I don't know if this is a good deal or not, but they should be legit and not some funky make as they're used military..

$45.   http://www.mckay-ent.com/parts/m16a4-carry-handle-s.html

or, they have them with more wear for $10 less..

Thanks for the help gentlemen I'm still in the market at this point (haven't heard back from Longfisher) I will most likely end up going with a Colt 6920 takeoff or a PSA since the rifle is a PSA anyway. I guess in the end it really shouldn't matter but I figured there HAS to be some reason for the huge price variations.
Again, thank you all for the input.

Longfisher/Dave: If you changed your mind I totally understand, just let me know either way so I can find one if need be.
