I have an older EOTech 552 that will not illuminate. While checking the battery case both of the rubber bumpers with springs fell out. Thinking this was related to the problem, I swapped the battery compartment from another EOTech and it still did not illuminate. I put the bumpers back in the faulty sight's battery case and tried that on the other EOTech and it worked. So it is not the battery compartment that is causing the problem.

Any ideas what is wrong with the sight? I see that there is a replacement switch kit available. Should I waste the time and money going with the kit or just send it in?

Thanks.

Check for corrosion on all battery contacts.  Batteries that go bad and leak will do that.  Always use Energizer Lithium if you get it working. They are less likely to leak.

There is no corrosion that I can see. I tried rubbing the contacts on the sight with an eraser. No change.
