This rifle was posted in another thread yesterday. I tried im the op but no response and got an error. Is this a cover for tac scope? Or the actual housing for this particular unit? If you know what it is let me know. Google only provided airsoft and nc star search results.

Thanks for the Intel guys. It figures something sleek and good looking starts at 1k. I want to like the tactical scopes but God they're fugly. This one is sweet though. Maybe one of these days when I'm divorced ??

I think it looks cool, but it's not popular.  There seems to be more rants than praises for it

Are there any others on the market that have similar aesthetics? I'm not in a rush to drop dollars for looks, but I like it.

What is it about tactical scopes you find ugly.  There is enough variety that you should be able to find something to your liking.

the cqt is an excellent scope for its intended purpose . I have one on my 458 socom and it works great for my hunting needs on 1 power the dot is 9 moa and makes it excellent for hunting thick timber . dialed up to 3 power the dot is 3 moa and I can shoot 6 inch groups at 200 yds . thats all I need for deer , pigs or center mass on  vertical varmints . the illumination works great in the woods with it washing out only in bright sun light but the glass is very clear and seeing the retical illuminated or not is not an issue. it also uses 1 aa battery and has pretty good life  , using a bright weapon light I have made hits on critters at 100 yds at night . I bought mine from gander moutain on a demo sale for 550.00
I see them for sale on the equipment exchange for around 600-650 dollars .

Like I said I try not to get too wrapped up on looks, but I do take it into consideration. The tac scopes are generally just cosmetically bland to me , and the endless slew of cantilever mounts are just an eyesore to me personally. It also seems like the more reasonable the price, the larger the scope, 6 inches would be ideal imo, typically they are 10 and quite heavy. I love the reticles around these days and give in the next few years they will be improved and refined. I'm not in the $1000 optic crowd and won't be. Just won't For many reasons. The leupold pictured above is unique and I hope it's emulated.
