Hi. I just got a Trijicon 4x32 ACOG TA31 RCO BAC for my Ar 15.   I'm use to Aimpoint's that are placed further down the rail.  How far back should the Trijicon be placed?
Thanks

I put mine as far back as possible while still forward of a Matech BUIS.

I have it all the way back.  But I have no room for a rear iron sight.

Maybe try an offset sight.

If you shoot NTCH, right in front of the BUIS is the perfect distance. If you shoot with your head back you will need to ditch the BUIS or mount it in front of the ACOG.

Right in front of the rear BUIS.

You need all the help you can get with a TA31.

Bump the BUIS and put the TA31 as close to the charging handle as you can. Putting the BUIS in front of the ACOG is a good idea. ACOG's are very dependable and using the BUIS is probably not going to happen anyway.

Get a TA-11.............

You will need to either move your stock in closer or move the optic back farther and maybe ditch the buis. Larue makes a RCO specific mount for the TA31 so that you can mount it as far back on the receiver as possible.
