I'm looking at some Leupold and Burris models.
Any other brands worth considering? Fix or variable the way to go for general purpose use? |
| Are you really looking for an need a long eye relief true scout scope? If you must mount way out on the barrel, then, yes, those are two good choices. Keep magnification as low as possible. Long eye relief scopes have very narrow field of view compared to receiver mounted scopes. I have both kinds, but would only recommend a scout scope where there is no other mounting choice, or where you will have the scope QD mounted and want to be able to use a receiver peep sight that stays on the rifle. |
