| Is it me or is the eye relief on my Colt 4 X 20 scope rather short? I mounted it up on my A2, and had to lean way over the stock to get even close to full FOV. I switched it to my A1, and that was somewhat better, with the shorter A1 stock. I guess I will have to mount it to a carbine with collapsible stock to see where it needs to be. I wasn't expecting to need it right against my face to get a good FOV thru it. Is there a better scope with a longer relief I can get? My budget won't allow me to spend a fortune either. |

It depends on the make and model of scope, most manufactures with list they eye relief on their website, I have found on an AR 3-4" of eye relief seems to be ideal. Many scopes seem to be shorter than that unless specifcally made for an AR. To achiece proper sight alignment even with iron sights you nose should almost be touching the charging handle.
What is you budget for new scope? |
