| Hi, I just completed my 1st .30 caliber upper in 7.62x39. And I used a set of magpuls I had just to try till my diamond heads I brought off the e.e. gets here. Now I didn't buy the sights as my only source of optics but I wanted a backup per say. My long term goal is a eotech with a magnifier. Or a really good long range scope. Anyway I was looking for advice on a low cost scope and mount to use. Also since this is a off caliber then a 5.56 for bcd would I use a .308 scope? Will any hunting scope work other then rim fire or am I over thinking this? Up until now I have always used iron sights and a cheap ass scope on my ak47 that was a flea market find 6 yrs ago and still working ok lol. I am trying to go with long range accuracy in the future and hoping for 500yrd since the range goes out that far. Also is it ok to switch a scope between rifles? Now I do realize that the settings will change but I was told once you know where it will mount for eye relief and once you figure the number of clicks on the adjustment you should be able to repeat all the time. Is there truth in that? Thanks everyone. |

You're correct that both the elevation and windage will be different. You can use the zero marks on the one rifle then just write down the corrections for the other rifle. Return to zero back to the first rifle. Not ideal, but doable. |
