| So I picked up a Leapers UTG 3-9x32 scope and had a quick question about how to read the mil dots on it. On the reticle it goes dot dash dot dash etc. rather than dot dot dot. It looks like---O---I---O---I---O---I rather than O---O---O---O---O. Does mid circle to mid circle count as a mil dot or mid circle to dash? It says nothing about it in the catalog |
| I doubt with that scope any of the subtentions will be accurate. You will have to put up a target and see how they measure. A mildot is spaced every 3.6" at 100 yards. The other marks usually measure half that distance in between each dot. You will also have to be on the specific magnification setting that the scope requires for the subtentions to be accurate. |

This it? |

Those cheaper scopes often tend to just have dots randomly placed on the reticle. Also if they are real, they only work on 1 magnification setting, usually the highest on a 2nd FP scope. |

Yes that's it. And in the catalog it does say that mil dot measurements should be done at the highest power magnification. |
