Looking at buying my first acog & I have never really used any kind of scope before, so silly question inbound = I am looking at either the T11H or H-G or the T31H or H-G, both of which have side ranging hash marks that other model acogs do NOT have.

Are these side ranging hash marks useful, important, hubcaps on a tractor not needed since the other model acogs do NOT have them, etc??
Any advice for the newb??

Thanks, Bill

Those are ranging marks for calling in indirect fire in the military. Obviously doesn't make a difference as a civilian.

My favorite ACOG is the TA31F with red chevron . Uncluttered FOV. Great reticle. The hash marks of the other ACOGs are tits on a bull as a civilian.

Second favorite is the TA01NSN. More precise.

I would pass on the side marks. I went from a ta31 without to the ta31m150rco or whatever it is called and they just get in the way. Persoanlly i'd like to go back to the donut of death. Much simpler
