I recently purchased a pair of Magpul MBUS Pro sights from DSG Arms. When I adjusted the front sight I noticed the post was turning as I adjusted it. I didn't think it was supposed to do this so I tried holding onto the post while turning the adjustment wheel. That seemed to correct the issue and the post then stayed in the same position without me holding onto it as the wheel was being turned. Tonight I went to adjust it and it again the post started turning when the adjustment wheel turned.

Is the front post supposed to stay in the same position or spin when the wheel is adjusted? Has anyone else had this issue? Any way to correct it?

I will say this as kindly as possible here ... When you turn the adjustment wheel and the post goes up or down, that's exactly what you want it to do. How do you think elevation in front sights is adjusted? You make the post go up or down to get on target. How did you think front sites were dialed in?

Hope you didn't damage your sight by holding the front post while you tried to turn the adjustment wheel.

OPs problem is the actual post itself is turning.

OP something is wrong as my post does not turn when using the adjusment wheel. It simply moves up or down.

ETA: I don't think there is a quick fix so just contact Magpul, and they will take care of you.

I'm aware the front sight post is supposed to raise or lower when you adjust it. My question was is the front sight post supposed to turn/spin/rotate as it's being adjusted up or down...I don't believe it is which is why I asked for confirmation from others.

As mentioned, it is not supposed to spin. Send it back, I don't think there are fake pros out there yet, so its probably a production anomaly. Magpul will fix it.

If you adjust the elevation too much it does that.

Grab some needle nose pliers and twist the post back down into the sight. Should do the trick.

It happened to me at the range and I thought it was broken and was like.... .... and then I realized I adjusted it too far.....

ETA: I confirmed that ALL Magpul PROs do this.
