I just bought a Windham Weaponry Carbon Fiber SRC. This is a flat top AR. For iron sights, I purchased Magpul MBUS Front (MAG247) and Rear (MAG248).

My problem: the rear sight easily slides onto the rear rail because it has a starting tongue at the charging handle which serves to align and slightly spread the bottom of the sight.. The front rail, however, has no such starting tongue. I haven't been able to slide the front sight onto the front rail.

Any ideas?

Without looking at my front MBUS, you can't remove the screw entirely and place it down from top over rail section?
Then reinstall screw in rail slot?

No, unfortunately. The edges of the rail are tapered to a point; you have to start at the end.

Ok yeah you're right. I remember the MBUS not having a separate side piece like a forward grip and it must slide from end with screw removed.

Mine went on, it was tight but did. Same fit when I slid one onto my Midwest rail.

Tech Support at Windham Weaponry told me the trick: warm and soften polymer sights in hot water, then tap them into place with a plastic hammer.

I put mine on last night. Just a good tight fit, but they go on.
