| Do you guys think the Aimpoint Pro is a good optic for having fun at range? I currently have the Eotech 512 and it's not really too good after 50 yards on paper targets...Do you think the Aimpoint would be a more clearer dot and easier to shoot say 100 yard paper targets? OR do you suggest me getting a decent scope |

Aimpoint Pro is good to go either way but just not sure what you mean by a more clear dot. |

The US Military shoots to 300 yds at man sized targets with what is basically an Aimpoint PRO. If you're just shooting paper plates, get a cheap optic. |

Unless you have eagle eyes, any unmagnified optic is inherently inaccurate at ranges beyond 50 yards. I can reliably hit an 8" target at 100 yards, but a 1-inch bullseye is out of the question unless by sheer luck. My eyesight, even with my new eyeglass prescription, just won't allow it.
Get at least a 1-4x optic like a Vortex or something. Amazon had P223 scopes for $99 around Christmas time (back to $150 now). Those are about the cheapest magnified optics I would consider. Alternately, you can get a G33 or used G23 3.25x STS magnifier for your EOTech. I have a G33 on my EXPS3 and it makes all the difference in the world at 100 yards or more. |

Definitely take a look through a PRO before you buy one. If you have astigmatism the "dot" may appear odd looking. I actually like what my astigmatism does to my pro dot. What I see looks more like very intense very small point of light, almost like a laser pointer.
And yeah you can get decent accuracy at 100 yds. These were shot the first time I took mine to the range, just getting it dialed in with cheap ammo. I've since installed a SSA and my groups are much better. " />
