This may be fun to see if anyone wants to take a shot at matching up my components. I have only posted here a couple times, but I am really confused. I have listed all the AR big ticket items I own, and want to dedicate each rifle combo to a different purpose, like a rifle for 3-gun, one for bench rest and friends and the range, one for general self defense, one for longer distance hunting?, and one permanently stored in my RV for SHTF bugout scenario. Right now, they are not paired up correctly. Please help!

I have coded them to make pairing easier. A combo for 3-gun, and one for general defense would be a great start! If I need to buy something that's OK too. As you can see I don't mind spending money .

I own the following optics:

O1) Trijicon 4x32 ACOG red chrevron with integrated RMR
O2) Aimpoint Pro (astigmatism in my eyes causes the dot to look more like a crescent. Took months of research to figure that out. People thought I was crazy - I guess I am though)
O3) EOTech 512 (no magnifier)
O4) Trijicon RMR with Tall mount for cowitness (I may move this to a pistol unless fits a need here)
O5) 1-4x 32 bushnell throwdown
O6) Vortex 6.5-20x 50mm

and the following Iron Sights:
IS1) 45 deg Offset Iron Sights
IS2) Magpul  set 1st gen MBUIS tan
IS2) Magpul set 1st gen MBUIS black
IS3) Magpul rear new design MBUIS black
IS4) Troy Rear Flip Up Sight
IS5) Tall Yankee Hill Front Flip Up Tall for Stag Lower Low Gas Block Rail with Magpul MBUIS Black Rear

I own the following 5 uppers:
U1) 300 AAC blackout with Full Float flat top alpha rail
U2) 6.8 Palmetto mid length upper with quad rail front gas block sight
U3) 5.56 Adams piston mid length upper with flat top quad rail
U4) 5.56 Stag mid length Upper with TAN magpul plastic (Requires the Yankee Hill Tall Front Iron Sight on low gas block)
U5) 5.56 Palmetto Carbine Upper gas block front sight No foregrip yet

I can change gas block sight to low profile gas block for full float rail. I have LOTS of parts.

I own the following complete lowers:
L1) Best one with large magwell and adjustable JARD trigger (probably 3-gun?)
L2) Crappy Polymer lower
L3) Standard mil spec lower
L4) Standard mil spec lower lightened trigger springs
L5) Standard mil spec lower with extended takedown pins
L6) A completed 80% lower (no parts kit installed yet but I have tons of parts kits)

I have a "plethora" of other other unfinished 80% and 100% lowers, gas blocks, rails, etc so you can use your imagination.

Example:

For 3-gun I am thinking:
O5 - IS1 - U3? - L1   (I don't have a great 5.56 upper- maybe need that too?)

For home defense:
O1 - IS3? - U1 - L3  (which backup iron sights with the ACOG if any?)

Bugout bag in RV currently has:
L2 - U4 - IS5 (Poly lower - stag upper - iron sights)

Thanks, there may be a prize for the most thoughtful solution .

Sounds like you're on the right track.  The setups you suggest at the end all make sense except I'd put the ACOG on the 6.8 upper, and probably use the EoTech for home defense.

Main problem I see is that you don't have anything that makes sense for that Vortex 6.5-20.  How about rebuilding U5 as a SPR type setup, with a precision 18" or 20" barrel, and throw a nice trigger in it.

Great! I like that idea. I've been looking to build an upper, I've only done lowers at this point. My shooting buddies are starting to collect uppers and barrels for some builds, so time for me too. I have some non AR rifles the Vortex scope can go on too, but I thought I'd include one high-powered scope in my list in case someone thought I should have that with maybe an RMR and offset iron sites for 3-gun. I'm new to 3-gun, and don't know how much magnification I might need.
