i made a post something of this nature about a month or so ago but didnt quite get what i was looking to so i want to ask once more, I am looking for a micro dot scope to sit on a 45 mount under my long range scope. I am looking for a micro dot that is a holographic type scope like the rmr or the delta point even the burris fastfire, my question is which is the best bang for the buck ? i have though about a bushnell or wever as well but i cannot find much on the reviews of the bushnell or wever, if i had the money id go full bore and get the RMR but at this time i dont.

also which 45 offset mount do you think would be best ?

The Sightmark Mini Shot and the Mini Shot Pro are pretty good if u are on a budget, RMR if u got the cash though of course

The only holographic sight is the EOTech, and they are not mini, by any means.  A hologram is illuminated by a laser, I believe you are referring to a Mini Red Dot Sight.

I have had excellent luck personally with the Burris FastFire II, but the newer FastFire III has addressed my only complaint about the II.  the II auto-adjusts to ambient light, but I like a brighter sight.  The III has presets, in addition to auto adjust, so for me, that is a great improvement.  Also, you can replace the batteries on the FastFire III without removing the optic, and needing to rezero.  With the FastFire II, the optic has to be removed.

The Leupold DeltaPoint auto-adjusts, and is plenty bright, but is nearly twice the price of the Burris FastFire III.

I use the Weaver Offset Rail Adapter to mount my FastFire:

I have the Fastfire II on the Weaver Offset Rail Adapter mounted on my Rock River Arms flat top, underneath a Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP in a DNZ Freedom Reaper mount.

When I roll the rifle to the right (I shoot laft-handed) without breaking my cheek weld, the dot in the FastFire comes up right where the reticle in the scope was.  I like it a lot.

I ppersonally have never cared for any MRDS mounted on the top of an optic, I much prefer the 45 degree mount.

I know you're looking for a RMR, Dr type optic but just wanted to throw this option your way.
PA micro with DD 1 O'clock off-set mount. Really like this set up and at around $125 it's hard to beat price wise.

I have one of these from about a year ago.  Never did have an auto-off, so battery lasted maybe 1-2 months.  Did they fix that issue?

I run a Eotech/InSight (L3) MRDS 3.5 MOA on an 7.62x39 AK platform, and to be honest with you... I think its simply awesome. Its VERY small and light, infact its funny that the bloody mount weighs more! I use it as the primary optic on the AK, using a RS Regulate side rail. It has an Auto-Sense function so it will automatically adjust to the ambient light that it detects from the front of the optic which works just right, but gives you the option for manual changes; Brighter, bright, not so bright and off. Very good little optic, I used it over the Christmas break on many hunting trips into the local native birch forests and swampy lands, it got mud, rain, leaves/dirt/grass bits on it and just kept going. Very quick and easy to acquire.  The battery is top-accessable, not under the sight so you do not need to remove it from the base (thus destroying your zero) to change it out.

They use the DR mounting footprint, so you have a wide range of mount choices, as it will also fit mounts designed/built for the Fastfire footprint. I'm running a ADM QR, mainly because I intend to also use it (without changing zero settings) on my Vepr 12 when it arrives. Its good kit, and if you're looking for a Min-Reflex, its one of the best.

During my research it came down to the non-dual illuminated RMR, the Vortex Razor, the Leupold Delta point with the 7.5 MOA Delta was also in the running, and of course the MRDS. MRDS won out in the end.

Will any of these be as tough as a T/H/R-1 series from Aimpoint...? No, I wouldn't think so. Those things have the rep they do for a reason. However, they are still very tough. The MRDS is made from Polymer, still is good and tough though (not on the same level though), and has a aluminum impact shield/shroud as an option, very much like her big sisters from the Eotech line. If you can, find one which comes with it, or at least pick it up as well as - its a good idea for that little bit extra protection

Micro dot is a type of acid, brown acid is bad acid.

If I were to supplement a magnified optic with an offset micro dot I would most likely opt for the Trijicon RMR.
