| Does a scope lose its zero if it is removed and later re-installed in the same location on the rail? |
|
Only one way to find out.
Expect to be disappointed if the mount is not specifically designed for QD return to zero, even if you do put it back on the same rail slots. There are too many variables at play and even a few thousandths of an inch turns into inches or more at extended ranges. At CQB distances and with RDS type optics you might get away with lower quality mounts. With a good LaRue or ADM or similar (Bobro et cetera) specifically designed for return to zero, you will get good results. There is a reason they tend to be expensive -- they eliminate as many of those variables as possible. |
