The Vortex StrikeFire says it is parallax free past 50 yards.  Can someone explain this?  I know what parallax is,but why past 50 yards.  Any other info about this Red Dot would also be helpful.

A true 1x red dot, by nature, ought to be parallax free, or close enough that it does not matter, at any range.

556,
The 50 yard parallax spec on the Vortex
didn't make much sense to me either.

Thought I'd jump in to clarify this issue for you. There is a tiny amount of parallax under 50y, but it is insignificant. Every red dot I've ever looked through has some parallax error, especially at closer ranges, but it is always so small that I don't think it matters. I think the marketing is just being brutally honest with that spec being listed. Hope this helps!

Thanks VortexSam.  That helps a lot, and if anyone should know, it would be you.  Thanks to everyone who also helped, ecspecially JohnnyC.
