If I buy a new in box ACOG TA31 today and put it on the shelf.......... (Never moved or damaged) What is the real life expectancy of the scope? Thanks, Hobo |

Quoted: HA! I've got a 2005 TA-31 and it's deader than grandma's clit. Needless to say it's going back. Anyone hear that? Thanks, Hobo |

I'm interested in "dead" TA 31's. I passed on several used one's in the EE because there is no way to gauge the useful life that is remaining. Seems that recently I read a bulletin that they would no longer "support" the older models by re-charging them. Anyone hear that? Thanks, Hobo Quoted:

Both pieces are serial numbered and should match. I called Trijicon to find out the year of manufacture. Found out mine was made in 2005. Trijicon will warranty the product for 12 years for the original purchaser. I was strongly encouraged to fill out, and turn in a registration card before discussing any repair options. They will relamp or replace at their option. As far as buying a used dead ACOG. That's exactly what it is. A dead ACOG. It makes a great daytime scope, worthless at night. As far as sending one of these back. It's a crap shoot. 50/50 chance of having to pay in upwards of $600.00 to be relamped by Trijicon. PLUS! There are many used .gov surplus/ stolen / grew feet and walked off units on the secondary market. No way to really know unless you call Trijicon with the serial number. No way would i pay $400.00 for one. |
