Looking for a new site for my 6.5 Grendel, last year we were hog hunting at night and I was using a Nikon Monarch scope with the XLR 250 kill light. I shot and killed two hogs but only because I hit them with the first shot. After shooting the muzzle blast washes out the site/ site picture for a bit and the second shot is more of a prayer than a true shoot. Anyway what type of optic would you recommend for hunting at night and achieving faster follow up shots? I was thinking a holographic site or a red dot both of which I have never had or used so impute would be great. Thanks
* Best night optic for fast follow up shots - Good value always a plus!

Which magnification powers do you find yourself using on that Nikon Monarch for hog hunting or otherwise?

Leupold makes a number of VX-R illuminated scopes which will work a hell of a lot better than a non illuminated Monarch.  That said, there are a few other good options too.  Red dots are great at night, but the lack of any magnification may make them impractical for you.
