I have had my Strikefire since Christmas and have only had it out to the range 5 or 6 times with a total usage time of about 10 hours. When I was out yesterday I switched from the red dot to the green dot and then the power switched ceased to function. It feels like the switch stayed depressed after it was pushed and it never released. The button can no longer be felt under the waterproof casing. The optic did automatically turn off as it was supposed to, however, it can no longer be turned back on since the button is jammed. I have already printed out a warranty slip and packed it up to ship in for warranty. I am somewhat disappointed since this optic is on my primary home defense rifle. I didn't really want to spend $600 on an Aimpoint but I am not sure I will trust it from here on out. I thought it was a great value since it was user friendly, easy to sight in, and maintained zero for over 600 rounds after it was sighted in. Hopefully I can get it back quickly or have it replaced so that I can give it another shot.
I guess I am curious if anybody else has had this issue or if this is just a freak anomaly. I won't have a problem continuing to use it if this is a rare occurrence, but not if it is a common problem. |
