I've spent some days searching through this topic and it seems like it's time to just throw it out here.
While not new at all to shooting I'm new to the AR world. I see this statement a lot on here. I recently completed my first build and ordered a Bushnell red dot to top it off. So here I am thinking all ready to go shoot & the dot doesn't show up in the sunlight. In the shade not a problem. A week ago or so I had read on here about a cheap one that several people seemed to think was the way to go. I thought I had saved the sight but can't find it or the thread with the link. So, Please tell me. Is this standard with red dots? Or did I just get junk? I've contacted the seller to see about exchanging for something else. |

There's a reason a lot of people on here use the saying "Buy once, Cry once". Buy an Aimpoint or Eotech and don't look back. If they are a little out of your price range, look in the EE for one, plenty of great deals to be had. I don't have any experience with your optic, is there a brightness setting? Did you turn it up all the way? Sometimes the obvious is overlooked.
primary arms makes some inexpensive RDS that people seem to have good experiences with, They have a message board in the industry section. Go there and ask them if there dot is visible in sunlight. |

I've read good reports on the TS 25. What I have is a trophy unfortunately.
This morning I moved the scope back as far as it would go on the rail & this improved it some. On the highest setting the dot can still be hard to locate. I did use a fresh battery. Bottom line is this one is either defective or just a model that isn't up to the job. It's getting shipped back in the morning. Thanks to all those who had suggestions. In my past 40 years shooting I have always used traditional scopes. Old dog needs a new trick. |
