I live in West Virginia and am thinking of coyote hunting,  I was wondering what would be a good scope for my dpms .223 that's fairly cheep.

a 2x7 redifield would be a good place to start

What are the longest shots you will be taking?
My pick would be a red dot out to 65-70yds, or a 1x4 out further.
If you were out west were there are possible 3-400yd shots, I would go w/ a 4x16.
Every time ive been w/ someone that had a 3x9 or higher, wishes they would have had lower power.
Them mangy bastards come quick, you need extremely fast target aquisition.
