| So i have a 3-9x scope resting in a burris QD Pepper mount on my stag carbine, its a nice setup but not what i want for general purpose/ bug out gun, it just adds so much weight and bulk. so im either going to get a carry handle and add meprolight night sights or get a Nikon P-223 3x, what would you guys suggest would practice get me able to hit milk jugs at say 200 yards max with either one of these suggested setups, in my area i feel that 80% of my shots would be under 150 yds, few would be past 250. |

woa, how u hit milk jugs at 200 isnt that 2 moa red dot completly covering the target and then some It doesn't cover a milk jug sized target at 200. The only issue is how good your eyesight is since there's no magnification. The PRO dot doesn't look anything like a holo dot. It's not a big round reddish O. It's a small, very intense point of red light. Think of a laser pointer. That's what the dot looks like on the target. |

I have an astigmatism so all RDS' get blurred into a dot with a bright smudge around it. Kinda like headlights through a dirty windshield. [my eyesight is good enough that I can shoot without glasses. for now] I suppose farsighted people might have similar issues. My EOtech is blurry too, but if I focus on the target (like you should) and not the sight plane it smooths out considerably. |

Iron without trit, or just use a porward with trit, either way the rear ones are so bight at night they glowing dots just all blur together, especially if you shorten up your stock and hold the rifle really close to your eyes.
I live in the city so would never need a scope for long ranges shots plus if they are that far away im just going to run away, i have a family to take care of, im not about to go off and start a battle. As a side note i use a EOTECH, nice visibility and i just replace the batter once a year no matter what, also have BUIS just incase. |
