Huge objective makes for excellent light gathering capability, the quality of the glass gives the impression there is more magnification than just 5.5x, typical tough-as-nails ACOG construction.
BUT, it is a heavy pig and pretty big for a fixed power optic, and costs as much as a quality 2.5-10x NF which can fill a lot of roles in a smaller package. I like mine, though I've just moved it to a 14.5" Noveske and want to try it out on a lighter package to save some weight. If I were in the market again I'd probably get a nice variable.
