Has anyone used the Millet Tactical scopes 4x16x50 with 30mm tube?  Optics planet has these for $309 and I was thinking of picking one up for a build.  I have lots of shooting experience and have owned a lot of scopes but never a tactical scope - ie, I know I can spend a small fortune and get the best thing since sliced bread, but that's not what I'm looking for here.

Thanks in advance.

I have 2 of them one on a 223 and one on my 50, they are nice scopes for the money, I have only had
Mine out to about 300 yards but I'm sure It could do fine farther...the locking turrets are tits

In for replies, because I am looking at the exact same scope right now.

I don't trust Millett to track properly.

What about windage and elevtion clicks - it comes with 1/4" or 1/8" clicks.  The 1/8" clicks are obviously more precise option but that means more clicking when making adjustments.  1/4" clicks cost a little more.  Any input is welcomed.

Why not?  Have you had a bad experience with one, or more than one?

I have an LRS-1 on my 700 PSS .308 and it does goog, but my only peever is that the Mil-Dot reticle it has is heavy. It'll hold me until i can get a good deal on a Leupy Mk4.

Can you explain what you mean when you say
"...the Mil-Dot reticle it has is heavy"
Do you mean the scope itself is heavy?  Or are you refering to the cross-hairs/reticle in the glass getting thick at higher power?

Thanks

Primarily threads I've read online.  One poster stated his clicks were ~15% off.  I have a LRS-1 sitting at home and I'll be doing to testing on it as soon as I'm back stateside.  If it gives me issues I'll have Millett fix/replace it and then sell it for another Vortex.  I have a PST 2.5-10 and Viper 6.5-20 I've been very happy with.  I've also got one of the 5-15 HS models from midway, but I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet.

Big heavy scope, fine for a bench gun but lug it around for a day and you'll want something lighter. Originally picked it up for a Mk12 build but changed it before first range trip because of size and put it on a 20" bull barrel bench gun.
Clear glass, fit and function fine, haven't spent a lot of time with other than 100 yd zero.

I went ahead and ordered the Millet.  I'll give you my first impressions soon.
