Just curious on opinions here. I have two recently purchased AR's. A MP15 lower/spike tactical upper and a Bushmaster A2 20" XM15. Right now both are bare on the upper rails. (Granted the A2 doesn't have a rail, just a carry handle.)
First, on the MP15 I tend to target shoot from 50-200 yards. Open sights for me are okay out to 100 yards but beyond that......not so good. I would like to be able to get consistent groups at these ranges and not sure what to go with optics wise. Are there any good budget friendly low power scopes out there that would allow a co-sight with the irons but scope for longer shots? On the A2, just looking for recommendations for a decent target scope that will mount to the carry handle? Being that the handle is part of the upper. |

Carry handle mounted optics suck, and is a poor idea. Iron sights will get better with practice. Dry fire more than you live fire. ~Augee |

Augees right. My cmp service rifle is good to 600 with the irons. I am not, but the rifle is. 200 with it is an easy shot. Granted this is a WOA upper with a Geissle hi speed. my Model 4 Stag is solid as a rock at 200...as stated by Augee, shoot it and you will get the results you want.
But, if you want an optic you can get a mount for the handle and buy a 1x4 scope like a Mtac and have your optic. It will render your irons useless |
