I'm in the process of buying a new optic for my SBR, I currently run a PRO on my carbine, but my wife has taken over that gun since I shoot my SBR mainly now. I do love the PRO, but it is big. That being said do you guys think its worth spending the extra $250/300 on the T1? Besides size and battery life, is there really any other benefit and is the size worth the cost? One day I plan on night vision so the H1 is out.

I'm in the same boat except it's over the T1 and the Comp M4.

I've heard the viewing window on the T1 is sort of small and some people don't like it.  I'm sooooooooooo torn.  So torn.

The viewing angle on the T-1 is not bad at all.  Get it with a lower 1/3 co-witness mount and get your cheek somewhere on the buttstock.

My friend has a compm4.  I had a Trijicon SRS (which laughs at eveything regarding dot acquisition).  The T-1 is the best of the group.  You get weight savings and very limited housing around the lens making both-eyes-open shooting a breeze.

The thing is the best I've seen...

I have had a Comp M4 (basically a pro with better battery life) and a T1.

I still have the T1 and I do not have the M4 anymore.

I will say that the T1 offers a lighter weight and the viewing tube is just as nice as the M4.  While the M4 might be a little larger for the 'viewing tube' the T1 tends to not obstruct as much of my field of view as the M4 or the Pro would.

To me - and for my application - I would rather have the lighter weight overall.  I could and can still feel the difference between a mounted T1 on my rifle and a mounted Eotech EXPS 3-0 or a T1 vs. a PRO.

Go with the lighter and smaller of the two.  Very straight forward operations, great battery life, and a very durable optic.. you will love it.

Also I should mention that I run the T1 on my 11.5'' SBR.  In my opinion it is the essential SBR optic.

you should be able to find the T1 for something like $500-$550 which is only about +$100 from the PRO.  Also,  spend the extra $ to get a LaRue mount or other repeatable mounting solution.  They're fantastic if you just want to take your optic off and blast for a little bit with some irons. The return to zero is a very true thing.

I did it...twice.

If I could find the 2 MOA T1 for $500, hell even $550, I'd be over, but everything I see is $600 plus and I can get the PRO, for $375, but it sounds like the T1 is the winner.

I've got several Aimpoints:

H-1
M2
M3
M4S
3X magnifier

The only benefit I've seen with the H-1 over the others I have, is in size and weight.  Is that one of your concerns?

This is correct and the T1 even with fixed sights is very easy to run. All you have to do is focus on target and the T1 runs like a champ. In the future when you get night vision gear your going to wish you had a T1.

With all that being said right now used optics are going for cheap prices on EE. I have seen T1, M4s, Pro, and Eotech's at great prices in new condition.

Here is another pic to sway your mind.

I've had both. Only have the PRO now. I get faster shots on target, when in an unconventional firing position,  with it than I did with the T1. Price wasn't a concern and, honestly,  the weight thing isn't an issue to me either. The objective size bothered me.

What were the unconventional shooting positions with the T1?

anything that required less than an ideal cheek wield. could be a training issue but I seriously doubt it, I'm noticeably faster with the larger aimpoints in the exact same positions.

Traded the T1 in a larue mount for a j frame and hadn't thought twice about it.

do you use that rail for a DBall or the light and forgrip it?

One day I'll get a Dbal, but for now it just holds my light and forgrip.

I hear ya... you had mentioned NV in your post so I was just curious. The PRO works with NV so I was curious if it was a space and weight issue when mounting NV to the gun and dbal to the rail. I don't own NV at the moment but I've handled some and wouldn't think it as a deal breaker..

I believe there are some nv gear that mounts behind the optic too.

Aww I see so that is why I would go with T1 cause of less foot print when using NV gear.

If you can afford tax stamp, you should be able to pony up for T1 2MOA variant.  T1 would be my choice...my friend has T1 4MOA and PRO...that pro is huge and it weighs a lot more than T1 and it takes up more rail space.

I think I am going with the T1, but if you look at it this way, the price is about $200 different. Thats another SBR stamp.

I have 2 CompM4 sights and one micro H-1.  I prefer the field of view of the
CompM4 but the weight of the H-1.  Honestly the P.R.O. is the best of the lot
due to the fact that its HALF THE PRICE of the others.

Gratuitous pics
