I am wanting to mount a Burris 3x9 scope on my colt 6920 for the purpose of working up a load for it. This will be temporary as I will probably run a red dot or another scope on it after I see which ammo it likes and I get the money for what I want. I am looking for something under $100. Considering a Burris AR-P.E.P.R. Is this mount the right hight when running a fixed front sight and a collapsable stock?

If its temporary then buy some cheaper rings.

Otherwise use an LT-104.

You don't need to mount the scope so high that it looks over the front sight. That will lead to cheekweld problems and affect your results.

Mount it as low as the lenses will allow because at magnification you will see "thru" or "around" the front sight with nothing more than a slight shadow in your view.

So buy some of the better quality rings ($30-$50) and not the cheap $10 pos's.

Otherwise I fully agree with the LaRue LT104.
