I've owned my A2 AR for a couple of years now and I'm finally working on putting an A4 upper on it. I am getting an EOTech XPS3 or EXPS3 (not sure which yet) and plan to get a magnifier as well. My rifle sees a good deal of use/abuse, and usually tags along on hikes/rock climbing trips in the White Mountains. Consequently, it gets banged up quite a bit, so I need something that will be able to take the abuse. Would the latter of the two magnifiers be able to take the abuse? |

I'd at least get a Vortex magnifier in a similar flip to side mount. Optical clarity is one of those things you never regret paying extra for, but regret dearly if you go cheap initially. If you get a BDC reticle for your EOTech then the magnifier is a luxury as you should learn your shot placement without it. The Vortex combo from SWFA is gonna run you about an extra $100 over the link you posted, but would be money well spent. You may be able to find a different mount elsewhere.
