| We've all seen these standard mounts, that use a hex nut to tighten onto rails. Anyone know of a ball bearing/QD flip switch type lock that can be installed on them(obviously thread sizing specifics are needed)? Bueller? |

It's been done by a few folks in the past with fair success, but with the availability of cheaper QD mounts today (PA, Burris, etc) it doesn't make much sense.
Were one to try it, a trip to the local bike shop would get you a wheel skewer (quick release for mountain bike wheels) that is the same thread as the cross bolt in some mounts and can be made to work if you are creative. |
