I know upper tier optics are more important to have than even upper tier rifles. So i have a T-1 aimpoint and a larue mount. Now after i figured a magnifier and swivel mount could be a fun and non-essential addition to the set up.

But i cant see spending the same amount on a magnifier as i did on the optic. Why not go for a nock off magnifier and get a good mount ( because i know without a good amount its worthless). I mean wouldnt i just go for the ACOG if i was going to spend 1200 dollars on a the whole aimpoint package.

So does a Primary arms magnifier and larue mount combo sound like the best option or should i just stick to the old axiom of buy once cry once and just splurge?

You get what you pay for. Quality optics will last you the rest of your life (unless you trash the heck out of them).I'd shop for the best and cry for several months if you need too. My .20 cents.

I'm with you OP. Since you are viewing this option as fun and non-essential, I'd personally go with the PA magnifier. I've seen a few set ups with a quality optic and the PA magnifier so you wouldn't be the first.
