Although not a torture test per se, I've been using the same Eotech 553 for my 2009 deployment to Iraq and my current deployment in Afghanistan which is in the 10th month. So far I haven't had any issues during the deployments or during any training between deployments. It has been through rain and snow, -20* F to 120*F, it's been through dust storms, dropped off of mud walls, banged around in the turret, and even jumped out the back of our gator. It's still working, and through it all, it still holds it's zero very well. I realize that battery life is nowhere near that of the Aimpoints, but we have an abundance of CR123 batteries. I just replace them once every two months. I guess I'm one of the few lucky ones to have an Eotech that has been holding up well. My company has about 75% Eotech 553s and 25% ACOGs. No one has mentioned anything about their Eotechs going bad.
Sorry about the rant. I just had to defend the Eotech. I like it a lot. |

Your entire video loses a bit of credibility when you claim that your same optic (Comp M3) has been in use and abused for 10 years.
An optic that hasn't even been out for 10 years, it wasn't even made until 2005.
Either it's an M2, or it hasn't been 10 years as claimed. From the video info: This Aimpoint has had a really rough life. We have abused it for over a DECADE! And it is still running strong.
