I am thinking of buying one of these for a new build, and am wondering about how they might fair being dropped or banged against something. I know their shock proof, but the knobs stick out pretty good and not sure how they will stand up being hit or dropped. A damaged knob can make the whole thing scrap even tho everything else is still good.
I looked at the Vortex, but I want something with a 2 or 3 MOA dot.

I saw one of these yesterday at a local shop and I really liked it.
It seemded well built and for $200 much cheaper than others I have looked at.
I may pull the trigger on it.

I have 2 of the HD7's. I like the Lucid HD7 better than the Vortex Strikefire (actually sold a Strikefire to help purchase the 2nd HD7).

I ordered one.. Got one with magnifier for $219 shipped. Don't know if that's a great deal, but was tired of looking. Now I need a Magpul OD green rear sight...

I picked this up from 3 Rivers Precision. Had the chance to make it out to the range today and it's exactly what I was looking for. If you mention the coupon code in the MAC review from youtube it saves you some dough

I bought an HD7 and recently had a chance to take it out to the range. This optic is a bang for buck winner. The P.O.I does not change with the selection of reticule. The optic holds Zero when taken off and remounted. The dot is a clean crisp 2 MOA. The choice of reticule is a great bonus, my favorites being the plain dot and the circle/dot.  Optics are clear and bright. The magnifier performs as advertised and does not change the P.O.I but it does constrict the field of view. The rubber armor is a nice touch. About the only grip I have is that the turret caps weren't rubberized or coated with a something alot more durable than the thin skin of paint that scratches very easily.
