So i was looking at an h1 and a m3 the other day, but for some reason the m3's dot look sharper to me. Is this because of the bigger fov and longer tube of the m3 vs the h1 or is it just me, and have you guys noticed this too? thanks

all dots should be same 2moa and 4moa on all aimpoints. just the fov is different.on some models

That is what i thought but the m3's dot just look better to me, which sucks cause the h1 is lighter.

Both were 4moa btw...

yeah i have had a ml3 2moa and i have a T1 4moa on the way so i can give you more info when it gets here. i still dont see aimpoint making the dots any different because of the field of view.

Thanks for the reply, but its not just the bigger field of view on the m3 it is also the longer tube. I agree though that it is unlikely the optic's fault, but the fault of my own eyes.

If you flip up your rear buis and look through the rear aperture and the dot looks good, it is your astigmatism playing tricks on you.

The 4 M.O.A. H-1 and the 2 M.O.A. M3 have different length which allowed Aimpoint to more finely focus the dot on the 2 M.O.A. versions of  their sight until just this year when they magically found a way to squeeze 2 M.O.A. into the micro sights. However, the 2 M.O.A. micro sights (T-1 or H-1) are still selling at a premium price. There was a time when the 4 M.O.A. were getting fairly cheap. ($400-500, haven't seen 2 M.O.A. Micros under $600 yet)

While the 2 M.O.A. Aimpoint Micro is the "latest and greatest", in my combat veteran experience, a 4 M.O.A. red dot would be just fine for wacking bad guys from 0 - 100 meters.
