This may sound weird but hear me out. I run a ta31f acog of my duty/patrol rifle. We set the reticle at 100 yards but that is the farthest we shoot, everything is closer, all the way to head shots at 7 yards.

is there a mathematical way to figure out the reticle for close ranges on the the ta31f reticle?

Please no weird comments and no advice to get a RMR equipped acog, just real answers

I know I could spend an afternoon at the range and figure it out but I wanted to check if someone has done it or if there is a mathematical formula to figure it out.

I want to have something like this and put it on my buttstock for reference but I would like to have it with close range distances, like 65 yds, 50yds, 25yds, 15yds, 7yds.

Shouldn't the 200m point also be pretty close to 50m, a la the battlefield zero theory?  That might give you a little better point within 100 yds...

I have heard this also, I have also seen the youtube video of the guy zeroing his acog at 33m using the 300yard reticle portion

I have the horse shoe reticle, but at 100yrd the center dot is zero, at 50yrds I use top of the post, 25yds I use the 400yrd reticle. Its damn near perfect. I havent tried anything closer than that though.

The 300 is the  same POI @25m, if zeroed properly.

Set your sights to 50m and that is your 200m zero as well. Leave your chevron tip at the 50m aiming mark and that will be your point of impact.

this is what I will be testing soon at the range and I will post my results. this is just based off the

200 range mark for 50

300 range mark for 25

so I am guessing and estimating 100 yard further reticle cuts the distance in half as you get closer

200yds = 50yds POI
300yds = 25yds POI
400yds = 12.5yds POI
500yds = 6.25yds POI

Youre on the right track for 50/200 and 25/300(ish), but I think youll find 12.5 is more like 600+

That looks like what came with the Techincal Data Package from Trijicon when the TA31F was fielded.

no it is not that far down the reticle, we did some shooting the day before I posted this and it was no where near there, at about 8-10 yards we were shooting paper plate sized targets and I was throwing up the 500 yard reticle mark and was getting consistent hits on the plate. I am just looking for more exact ranging on the acog

how come from 3 to 4 is such a big move on the riticle pattern? its just 100 yards in between

most M855 or M193 type FMJ ammo is running out of steam at that range and ballistics dictate the drop from line of sight/point of aim at that range.  Look at ballistics charts for the FMJ ammo and see the drop from 250-500 yards.
