| OK, first i have to say swfa customer service is not quite top notch. I tried to order a vortex 1-4 pst from them and they billed and all as if in stock. 3 weeks later i get an email from them saying its backorder and will ship shortly. 2 weeks later i call them and i wish i knew the ladies name but i ask when/ how long and i get a "it should be soon" so i ask hmm that mean a week a month another couple months? ok now i get a "yeah it will be shortly" wow. promptly cancelled order. I hate when places sell stuff as if they have it when they dont and then can't even make good on shipping it or tell you an anticipated date. so i figured i would go to my local little store, they didnt have the pst i wanted so i said alright guess i will settle for a strikefire. Now i will say it looked nice when i got it home, mounted up tight although not the $300 mounts that seem to be touted as being mandatory for an optic it did the job it was intended to do. Looking through it was nice and clear and the dot looked very nice. Uh-oh push the button to sitch red to green and only 1 time did it actually switch, every other time it just turns off. So ok it was green and wouldnt turn red, well i liked the green better so i figured ill at least go try it out at the range. Looking through it around the house the dot seemed to work well and be about the perfect size. Now off to the range with a buddy. AR out of case, set up target, go to take first shot for sight in of strike fire, pull the trigger, R.I.P. Strikefire. Very first shot and the recoil killed the scope it immediately died and has never turned back on. Now i know defects happen so although im a bit upset, it happens. Spent the rest of the day shooting my friends Eotech. Now i will say i like the dot better in the strikefire though i do like the larger outer circle in the eotechs for added attentuation to the dot. All in all i still need to call vortex and mess around with getting this thing fixed, and i will never order from swfa again they lost a customer here, but i will say if you get a non defective strikefire it looks to be a very nicely built optic, very clear, well defined dot, decentish covers and mount. Not the best on the market but for the price it costs its well worth taking a look at. |

I usually call before placing an order for large ticket items (like optics). If it isn't in stock & ready to ship then I move right along to a different vendor. I personally prefer to pay more elsewhere in comparison to waiting weeks or months to save a few bucks. This is exactly what I always do. |
