Hi , looking for a range spotting scope. Found a old M49 spotting scope. Does anyone know the range limit this scope can be used at? Thanks

Fixed 20x, about the same as anyother fixed 20x on the market, just a bit more rugged.

For me with moder high tech glass, 300 yards with the right lighting and background is the limit I can see 5.56 or 7.62 holes on CMP targets.

What kind of shape is it in and what's the price?

The M-49 is a fixed power 20x with no reticule.

They are all mostly 40-50 years old as well.

How far you will be able to see with one, besides it's condition (i.e. scuffed glass) is how well your own eyes work with it.
I used them in the military, and while they worked (Even with 40 years of scratches and cracked lenses) they didn't hold a candle to the 20x I used in competition shooting before I joined.
