I have a Mueller Optics APT scope, on a Weaver SPR mount.  It was something that I chose based on price, reviews, and magnification.  Not knowing a lot about scopes in general, I'd say it's been decent for occasional long range shooting.  What bugs me about it is what seems like a really small "sweet spot" for eye relief.  In other words, I have to have my eye in just the right place to be able to see a complete sight picture.  If I'm not "right" there, I end up seeing blackened circles in various places.  This gets worse as I climb up the magnification scale towards the 14x max setting.  I'm wondering if: (a) Is this normal for an inexpensive optic, and (b) Does this get better as one spends more?  It seems plenty bright, holds zero well, and is a good looking piece or gear.  Yet I'm tempted to just use my Aimpoint PRO most of the time to avoid dealing with this.  Ideas?

You might try moving the scope back a little, or get closer to the scope.
The exit pupil gets smaller with higher mag, hence the need to get closer to the eyepiece to get a full view.

I can try this...and will.  But I'd still like to know what the difference is between my scope for $200 and a Nightforce / SB for $2K?  I'm not questioning whether there is a difference, but just curious what it is.
