| how do you like them? are they worth the money over Troys? Also, whats the best place to order them from? |
|
Quality is fantastic
There have been durability concerns with Troys the past few years (and Ill wait to hear everyone and there grandma dispute me on that) The only downside to KAC Micros are availability and price. I have had god luck finding them at Operation Parts and a few other places. |

Sight snapping or loosening at the joint with heavy use, sorry for being vague Most people will never experience that if they don't use their rifle a lot though |

I have used the KAC sights and the Troys are far better IMO. I like the Troys with the HK front sight.
And this isn't vague? OP, I have used both KAC and Troy (only rear on the Troy). The nice thing about the Troys is that they work with all LaRue mounts; that is, KAC mount bases sometimes prevent the rear locking lever from closing down on it (e.g., LT100 with a KAC 200-600m sight). The Troys also have dual aperture, but I'm not sure this is necessary on backup irons. The KAC sights are attractive to me because they are an issued BUIS. I like how the 200-600m is adjustable for windage and elevation (don't know of a single Troy that does that). Adjustments also don't require a tool––last I recall, you need a flathead or coin or something to make adjustments on Troys. Here is some information regarding problems with Troy sights (http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=35582), and I have yet to hear any issues with KAC other than price and availability as mentioned. Do a Google search and restrict the search to "Discussions" (left side of search page) and you will find more. ETA: Oh, and IBTM |
| I have a set with the 600M rear on my LMT MWS and a set with the 300M rear on a MSTN 7.5" both have been great with no problems and I ordered them from Operation Parts. If they happen to be out of stock put in your email and they WILL notify you when they are in, unlike some other companies I have tried this with. I also own 3 sets of the regular Troys(not the micros) and have had no problems with those either, and my guns and sights do get used. |
