Not sure what your budget is, but this would be my first choice based on your description
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/950843/bushnell-elite-3200-tactical-rifle-scope-10x-40mm-1-10-mil-adjustments-mil-dot-reticle-matte Followed by one of these http://www.midwayusa.com/product/950843/bushnell-elite-3200-tactical-rifle-scope-10x-40mm-1-10-mil-adjustments-mil-dot-reticle-matte http://swfa.com/Mueller-Sport-Dot-Riflescopes-C140.aspx Or the cheapest I would look at http://www.midwayusa.com/product/168462/simmons-whitetail-classic-rifle-scope-65-20x-50mm-adjustable-objective-mil-dot-reticle-matte |
| Im not sure what your price range is but if I had to guess I would suspect that it isn't over $300 which eliminates most of the really good really interesting stuff. There are some fixed power tactical scopes at SWFA.com in the Super Sniper line they make a fixed 6x a 10x a 12x a 16x and a 20x. If you hunt this rifle under 100 yds stay with the fixed 6x but if you only use this rifle for target work the 16x would be a really nice scope. The older ones are mill dot the newest version out soon will be a reticle called a mil quad that is a very nice tactical reticle. These new mil quad scopes have the knobs in 1/10 mil clicks where the mil dot version has 1/4 moa clicks. These scopes hold their value very well compared to other scopes. Good Luck. LInk to scopes |

This one will go on sale at Midway for $299 soon. When it does, buy it. A whole lotta scope for the money. Big time bang for the buck. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/598484/weaver-tactical-grand-slam-rifle-scope-3-10x-40mm-1-10-mil-adjustments-mil-dot-reticle-matte |
| I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 and it has proven to be reliable for me. It has capped turrets, no illumination or any special bells or whistles. Just a good variable magnified scope. It has always held zero for me on both 223 and 308 rifles. The only thing I can recommend is to consider upgrading from what you previously had. For instance a higher range of magnification. You'll appreciate it. |

I bought three of them. Its probably the best scope under $450 IMO. It goes on sale a lot but its worth even the non sale price. |
